Ben's Den

Welcome to Ben's Den

I purchased my Den in July 2011 and collected the keys a year later.

It was my first property purchase, and I was obviously excited about doing it up right. After my stint in Norway, I did appreciate having my personal space, and being the practical Singaporean, the property purchase made perfect sense - prices were going up, I had some savings to invest, I missed having a personal space, and most of all I wanted a place of my own to express myself.

I spent an entire year studying interior design, understanding color coordination, visiting furniture shops, befriending furniture store owners, creating budgets and 3D models, as well as asking friends for tips on purchasing domestic appliances. I looked at my travel picture collection and recalled all the architectural wonders and beautiful things which I could implement into my future home.

I had been bitten by the travel bug in 2008, but in 2012 I discovered a new indoor adventure - building my dream home.

Below is a small collection of the planning phase, the bare apartment, and its evolution into my pride and joy.
